INGREDIENTS
PREP & Cook:
Prep a pot of water to boil your pasta
Wash your fruits and veggies. These can be chopped later.
Place your pasta in the pot of water with 1.5 tbsp. of salt. Boil this at medium-high for 12 minutes.
While your pasta boils, dice your bell peppers, onions, cheese, and ham. Small dice is recommended.
After 15-minutes, drain your pasta, place it in a roomy bowl, and place in the refrigerator. For this salad to come out the best, we are looking for the pasta to be super dry and cold.
1 lb. of cavatappi pasta
3 tbsp. salt
1/2 tbsp. black pepper
1/2 tbsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1.5 cup colby jack cheese, diced
1.5 cup cooked hickory ham diced
1/2 cup red bell pepper diced
1/2 cup green bell pepper diced
1/2 cup red onion diced
1.5 cups mayo
Imagine This
Imagine the sizzle of meat on the grill, the aroma of smoky barbecue filling the air. As the sun dips below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the backyard, you gather around the picnic table, laden with delicious dishes. Among them, a vibrant bowl of macaroni salad beckons. Its colorful medley of crisp peppers, savory ham, and creamy cheese dances in the light. As you scoop a spoonful onto your plate, the cool, refreshing pasta salad balances perfectly with the warm, juicy grilled meat. Each bite is a symphony of flavors and textures, a perfect harmony of summery goodness.
FINISH AND SERVE:
After 30-35 minutes, the pasta should be cool. If not, give it 10 minutes more in the fridge.
Add all your diced ingredients to the bowl of pasta, salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and mayo.
Mix these all together well.
Once mixed, leave the salad in the fridge for 1 hour or more for the best taste but it is perfectly fine to enjoy on the spot!
To serve, either put it in a classy dish or individual bowls.
